Legally Blonde Jr. Performed on RC Stage

Legally Blonde Jr. Performed on RC Stage

RC Theatre Company, RC Singers and the Hamlin Players teamed up to perform the energetic musical Legally Blonde Junior in Suna Kiraç Theatre on Dec. 20-22. Elif Coşkun L12 played the lead, Elle Woods, who leaves UCLA to enroll in Harvard Law School. Though her original purpose is to win back her love, Warner (played by Can Evyapan L11), her challenge increases when she learns that Warner has a new girlfriend, Vivienne (played by İrem Özsavaşcı L9), and that Harvard Law School is harder to stay in then to get into. Elle gets help along the way from the teachers' assistant, Emmett, (Ali Çataltepe L12) and through her resilience leaves Warner in the dust, ultimately growing into a savvy lawyer without losing her trademark optimism and genuine care for others.

The play is deceptively simple, but through its course, imparts a strong message about females finding success on their own terms. The play was co-directed by Caitlin Dunne and Jake Becker with Koray Demirkapı as Musical Director. Students served as choreographers.
