Robert College's Turkish Language and Literature Department organized the 12th Culture and Literature Symposium. This annual event, initiated by the RC Turkish Language and Literature department, brings together experts in their fields, who discuss an aspect of Turkish literature.
The theme chosen for this year was "The Second New" wave in Turkish Poetry (Şiirimizde İkinci Yeni). The full-day symposium was held on Saturday, April 22. Doğan Hızlan gave the opening speech, and the guest speakers were Yalçın Armağan, Devrim Dirlikyapan, Feridun Andaç and Derviş Aydın Akkoç.
At the end of the three sessions, the guest speakers answered the questions from the audience. RC 10th grade students Burçe Atman and Emre Kabasakal charmed the attendees with their musical performance of "Songs from the Second New".
The members of the department summarized the day with these words, "It was a great happiness for us to host them at Robert College, and all on the same day."
After the symposium, the attendees gathered in the garden and enjoyed the beautiful spring day.
